History

Frede Duelund Nielsen founded LINEX A/S in 1935. Already from the beginning the primary business focus was manufacturing and sales of specialised drawing articles. With successful sales growth on the Danish market the foundation for expansion into the export markets was established. In the early 60'es the first major export orders arrived, and it was obvious that there was a need for high quality drawing articles outside the Danish borders too.

The Linex name has through the years proved itself as the brand of some of the most excellent drawing articles in the world.

In 1993 the company was sold to Bantex A/S, a great stationary manufacturer. Bantex A/S continued to market the Linex brand.

In 1999 Linex was certified by the Danish Standard Agency under the regulations of the ISO 9001 standard.

In 2000 Bantex A/S was sold to the international Groupe Hamelin, which is one of the biggest stationary manufacturers in Europe.

It was in 2001 decided to establish Linex A/S as an independent company again to give the strong brand even more possibilities of development on the world market.

1 January 2002 Linex A/S was re-established as an independent company. Bantex A/S is still distributor of all Linex-products in Denmark.
